The Golf Courses - Sandford Springs Golf Club & Hotel Holidays
Sandford Springs golf club offers 27 holes of golf consisting of three 9 hole courses to choose from, The Park, The Wood, and The Lakes. The Park course was the original holes 1-9, with the The Woods being the original holes 10-18. The Lakes course was added two years after the originals and is considered to be holes 19 - 27. The courses had a large of investment of £1.5 million to help improve the drainage at the course. With a further £250,00 being spent to re-direct the water where it is needed - the tees, greens and approach areas.
The Park course is known as the easiest of the three courses, having a relatively open layout compared to the Woods course, which can provide high winds to trouble you during your round. The par 34 course is dogged with ditches forcing you to lay up or strike a great ball to be able to clear them.
The Woods course is regarded as the biggest challenge of the three courses, with large trees helping to shape the layout and design of the course. The par 36 course travels uphill then down dale to reward golfers with stunning views of Watership Down. The sloping lies and challenging greens make this a great test of golf.
The Lakes course is true to it's name containing several lakes which are in play throughout 5 of the 9 holes. Couple the tricky terrain with several long holes at the beginning of this round makes it an interesting and exciting round of golf during your stay.
