The Golf Courses - St Pierre Golf Holidays

The Old course at St Pierre Golf Club has won world renown having hosted numerous European Tournaments and seen some of the worlds greatest golfers throughout its lifetime. Both of the courses have recently been given a £2 million upgrade by acclaimed designer Ross McMurray. The Old course is built around an 11 acre lake peppered by ancient trees, including a 400 year old chestnut tree that leers domineeringly over the second hole. An 18 hole par 72 parkland course that stretches up to 7,028 yards from the championship tees and is known as one of the finest courses in the country.

The Mathern course is much shorter than the Old course but still provides a good test of golf, especially since the renovation work has been completed on it that provided the course with 18 new tee positions, re-positioned bunkers and a new irrigation system. The Mathern course also has dominating trees that require care to play around, though they do help add to the sublime views of the Monmouthshire countryside. An 18 hole par 68 parkland course which only measures 5,748 yards but still easily manages to provide a great game of golf.
