The Golf Courses - Dona Filipa Hotel Golf Break
San Lorenzo golf course is a design by Joseph Lee that opened in 1988 and is considered by many to be one of the best courses on the Algarve. A course that winds its way past forestry, lakes and villas on its way towards the ocean and the Ria Formosa lagoon, home to many plant and wildlife families. An 18 hole, par 72 woodland course that measures 6,832 yards from the white tees. A course that features undulating greens, strategically placed fairway bunkers and magnificent views of the surrounding countryside.
Pinheiros Altos golf course consists of three loops of 9 holes; Pines, Olives & Corks. The Pines and Olives make up the original par 72, 18 holes that measure 6,592 yards from the white tees. Designed by Ronald Fream in 1992 and later renovated by Peter McEvoy and Howard Swan. With the Corks also being a par 36 designed by George Santana da Silva in 2008 which is now the longest of the three tracks of 9 holes at 3,450 yards from the white tees. Trees and four large lakes are found throughout the course to provide hazards on this already tricky golf course. Though golfers are rewarded with great views of the Ludo Valley and Goldra Hills.
