The Golf Courses - Dom Pedro Marina Golf Break
Victoria golf course is one of the premium golf courses in the Dom Pedro brand having held the Portugal Masters every year since 2007. An Arnold Palmer design which opened for play in 2004. The course is quite long though relatively wide and open, a good drive will serve you well on many holes. Your approach play will be just as important with several lakes and bunkers creating tricky hazards to navigate. An 18 hole, par 72 parkland course that can measure up to 7,274 yards from the championship tees. A challenging course with some excellent golf holes, great scenery and very enjoyable to play.
The Old Course is the original premium golf course in the Dom Pedro brand being a firm favourite for many golfers and a must play course in the Algarve. A Frank Pennink design which opened for play in 1969 making it one of the first established courses in the area. The Old course was improved and modernised to current standards in 1997 by Hawtree & Sons who respectfully remodelled the course and installed a new irrigation system. The surrounding pine trees play an integral part in shaping the course and providing the stunning scenery. Accuracy is more important than power here to score well. An 18 hole, par 72 parkland / woodland course that can measure 6,840 yards when playing from the championship tees.
Millennium golf course is a design by Martin Hawtree that was opened for play in the year 2000. An 18 hole, par 72 parkland course that measures 6,176 yards from the back tees. The course began as part of the original 27 holes of Laguna, taking 9 of those holes and adding a further 9 to create this well received golf course. Beginning as part of the Laguna course paves the way for the many water hazards that can be found throughout the round. The course features many tree lined fairways but is open enough to allow for most shots apart from the wicked slice.
Pinhal golf course features plenty of rolling terrain throughout a heavily wooded area of Umbrella and Atlantic pine trees. The original design was by Frank Pennink in 1976 making it the second oldest course in the Dom Pedro Resort. The course underwent a re-design by Robert Trent Jones in 1985 turning it in to the course it is today. An 18 hole, par 72 woodland course that was recently lengthened to 6,948 yards from the white tees. There are also a few lakes and streams waiting to catch any stray golf balls.
Laguna golf course is a design by Joseph Lee that opened in 1990 and has been redesigned a couple of times to improve the layout of the course. Laguna has plenty of hazards to be wary of during your round, there are many well placed water hazards that feature on as many as eleven holes and 79 bunkers to avoid. An 18 hole, par 72 links style course that measured 6,706 yards from the back tees. This course features less trees than some its neighbours meaning it can be more open to a breeze that needs to be taken in to account.
