The Golf Courses - Sana Sesimbra Golf Break
Quinta do Peru golf course is an 18 hole, par 72 parkland course designed by Rocky Roquemore in 1994 that measures 6,60 yards from the back tees. An exciting course that meanders peacefully through 355 acres of forestry with the Arrabida Mountains providing a great background. Featuring well maintained fairways and nearly white sand in the bunkers. There are patches of water that make for good obstacles on 2 of the par 3 holes This course has previously hosted several European Challenge Tour Events.
Aroeira I golf course is set amongst 900 acres of beautiful pine trees, which help to shape the course but beware as they can come in to play from a wild tee shot. A design by Frank Pennink who also designed the Old course in Vilamoura and Palmares in Lagos. The course opened in 1973 and is now an 18 hole, par 72 woodland course that measures 6,610 yards from the back tees. Aroeira I has twice hosted the Portuguese Open in 1996 and 1997, the Ladies Open and European Men’s Club Trophy.
Aroeira II golf course is also located at the Aroeira Golf Resort and is the newer of the two courses there, though regarded as the more difficult layout. An 18 hole, par 72 parkland course designed by Donald Steel in the year 2000 that measures 6,963 yards from the back tees. The terrain is relatively flat with strategically placed bunkers and 5 lakes to contend with. Aroeira II has had the honour of hosting several Ladies Opens and the qualifying school for the Ladies European Tour.
Ribagolfe I golf course is a great championship layout featuring undulating terrain and great views of the surrounding countryside. The fairways can be narrow and the rolling greens are well protected by bunkers. There are also several lakes to test your accuracy throughout the round. An 18 hole, par 72 woodland course designed by Peter Townsend in 2004 that measures 7,335 yards from the championship tees. Ribagolfe I hosted the first stage of the European Tour Qualifying School since 2009.
Ribagolfe II golf course is on the same site as Ribagolfe I though it is considered to be the more forgiving course of the two. The fairways are more generous and the course is also shorter. Though there are a nice selection of lakes, cork oak trees and well placed bunkers to ensure you still have an interesting round of golf. An 18 hole, par 72 woodland course designed by Michael King in 2004 that measures 6,796 yards from the white tees.
