The 4* Elba Sara Golf & Beach Resort in Fuerteventura is a great holiday location that opens on to the Caleta de Fuste beach, with 1 kilometre of golden sand in front and Fuerteventura & Salinas de Antigua golf courses behind. Next door is a large shopping centre with shops, restaurants & bars as well as a bowling alley and cinema.
The hotel has 266 well decorated and comfortable guest rooms in a range of standard, family, prestige and suites. Each room has air conditioning, Wi-Fi, LED TV, minibar, tea & coffee facilities, safe deposit box, desk, hairdryer and a private balcony with most rooms enjoying sea views.
The hotel has 2 restaurants on site with the Albatross which serves a buffet with new themes every day and also has a live cooking station. There is also an a la carte Italian restaurant called Tucan where you can enjoy one evening meal as part of the half board package if you are staying for 7 nights. The Golf Course - Elba Sara Golf Breaks
Fuerteventura golf course is on the east coast of the island and a such enjoys sweeping panoramic views down to the Atlantic ocean. The course was designed by Juan Catarineu and opened for play in 2002, soon after it hosted the 2004 Canaries Spanish Open. Fuerteventura golf course is relatively flat with open fairways and large greens, though there are three lakes and a stream that connects them to navigate as well as some well placed bunkers though they are of little depth. You will find palm trees throughout the course which occasionally narrow some of the fairways without being too intrusive. An 18 hole, par 72 parkland course which measures 6,694 yards from the white tees and was the first 18 hole course built on the island of Fuerteventura. Free trollies and range balls are provided for your round of golf.
Salinas de Antigua golf course is right next door to Fuerteventura golf course though it plays slightly differently as it is not as long meaning that accuracy rather than power will be your friend here. The course was designed by Manolo Pinero and opened for play in 2006 to blend in to the rolling hills and sand dunes, giving subtle undulations across a relatively flat terrain. The fairways can be narrow in places but the greens are large and often protected by large bunkers. There are four large lakes and the rough is made of volcanic ash, the club gives you an iron for playing out of the rough to protect your own clubs. An 18 hole par 70 golf course that measures 5,915 yards from the white tees and has its own desalination plant on site to water the course during the night.
