The Golf Courses - Marina Portals Hotel Golf Break
Real Golf de Bendinat opened its doors as a 9 hole course in 1986, later adding another 9 holes in 1995 to become a par 70 golf course measuring 5,660 yards. The course was designed by Martin Hawtree and provides great views of Palma with the sea and local mountains providing the backdrop during your round. A course that is situated amidst extensive woodland and features undulating terrain to provide a test of your abilities.
Santa Ponsa I was opened in 1977 and was the second golf course to have opened in Mallorca. This 18 hole par 72 parkland course was designed by Folco Nardi with Pepe Gancedo which measures 7,156 yards in length from the white tees, with the 10th hole being one of the longest in Europe at 646 yards. The course has had the extreme honour of hosting the European Tour 6 times. The course is long and features several lakes with pine, olive and almond trees around the course.
Andratx is the most recent course to have opened on the island, in the year 2000. The rolling terrain provides for wonderful views of the local landscape, and a tough test of golf. The course is a par 72 which measures at 6,650 yards, with the 6th hole being the longest in Spain at 666 yards, known as the Green Monster. This is a course that requires a measured approach with well placed shots to avoid the 7 lakes and 60 bunkers placed throughout the course.
T Golf & Country Club Poniente is one of the oldest courses on the island having opened back in 1978. Originally designed by John Harris and known to be one of his best pieces of work, the course underwent extensive renovation from 2016 to 2018 to further improve the layout and esteem of the course whilst adding a new driving range and practice area. There are wide fairways and large greens but that does not make it an easy course as there are some unsuspecting slopes, tree lines fairways, fifteen lakes and numerous bunkers to be navigated. An 18 hole, par 72 parkland course which can measure 7,028 yards when playing from the white tees.
